Assumptions and conventions
  • Annual = rate × worked hours (schedule minus unpaid leave) + rate × multiplier × overtime hours × paid weeks.
  • All figures are gross, before tax and deductions.
  • Overtime applies every paid week at the multiplier you set; local overtime laws vary and are not modelled.
  • Values are calculated at full precision and rounded for display; columns may differ from totals by a small rounding amount.

How it works

Annual income = your rate × the hours you actually work: schedule hours minus unpaid leave, plus overtime hours paid at your multiplier every paid week. The result also shows the effective rate across all hours — overtime pulls it above your base rate.

Formula

Annual = rate × (schedule hours − unpaid-leave hours) + rate × multiplier × overtime hours/week × paid weeks.

Assumptions

  • All figures are gross. Overtime laws vary by country and are not modelled — the multiplier is yours.
  • Overtime recurs every paid week at the hours entered.

Worked example

500 per hour, 8 hours × 5 days × 52 weeks is 10,40,000. Adding 5 weekly overtime hours at 1.5× adds 1,95,000, for 12,35,000 a year — an effective 528 per hour across 2,340 hours.

Frequently asked questions

What overtime multiplier should I use?

Whatever your employment terms specify — 1.5× is common but not universal, and some roles get none. Local law is not modelled here.

How does unpaid leave change the result?

Each unpaid day removes a day of paid hours from the year, reducing annual income proportionally.

Why is my effective rate above my base rate?

Overtime hours pay more than base hours, lifting the blended average across all hours worked.
