Assumptions and conventions
  • Annual is the pivot: your amount converts to a yearly figure using the schedule you enter, then to every equivalent. Biweekly = 26 and semi-monthly = 24 payments per year.
  • All figures are gross, before tax and deductions.
  • Unpaid leave reduces paid hours; nothing assumes 8 hours, 40 hours or 52 weeks — every schedule value is editable.
  • Values are calculated at full precision and rounded for display; columns may differ from totals by a small rounding amount.

How the conversion works

Your amount converts to an annual figure using the schedule you enter (hours per day, days per week, paid weeks, unpaid leave), then to every equivalent. Because the schedule is editable, part-time work, compressed weeks and unpaid leave convert correctly instead of assuming 8 hours × 5 days × 52 weeks.

Bonus, commission and allowances are added as annual variable income and shown separately from base salary, with an effective pay-per-worked-hour figure across everything.

Formula

Worked hours per year = hours/day × days/week × paid weeks − unpaid leave days × hours/day. Hourly = annual ÷ worked hours; biweekly = annual ÷ 26; semi-monthly = annual ÷ 24; monthly = annual ÷ 12.

Assumptions

  • All figures are gross, before tax and deductions.
  • Biweekly means 26 payments per year; semi-monthly means 24.
  • Unpaid leave reduces paid hours for hourly, daily and weekly inputs.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result gross or net?

Gross — before tax and deductions. Use the Salary Breakdown or Take-Home Pay calculator for net figures.

What if I work part-time?

Enter your actual hours and days; every equivalent scales from your real schedule.

How is unpaid leave handled?

It removes whole working days from the year, reducing paid hours (and annual pay for hourly, daily and weekly inputs).

What is the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly?

Biweekly is every two weeks — 26 payments a year. Semi-monthly is twice a month — 24 payments. The per-payment amounts differ even though the annual total is the same.
